Assistant Director of Event Planning & Management

Responsibilities:
 
  • Plan and manage sizeable/mega events and implement events plans and concepts
  • Maintain good relationship with organizers and provide professional advice to enquires; analyze all requirements and develop effective execution plan for execution to achieve quality deliverables
  • Work closely with the internal stakeholders to ensure unparalleled support for the events is obtained from these departments as well as to ensure cross team collaboration for successful event implementation
  • Make prompt and sound decisions or prudent adjustments on-site during any critical and unforeseeable situations which may deviate from the agreed plan and may be detrimental to the event or the participants
  • Allocate team resources upon the receipt of the handover note from Business Development Team to ensure sufficient resources are reserved to support the events assigned
  • Lead, supervise and ensure all team members are adhered to the operational guidelines and attain a high standard of service and delivery quality
  • Provide inputs and suggestions to Business Development Team, as well as engaging in early planning of potential events if required
  • Keep abreast of latest guidelines, policies, rules & regulations of relevant government departments / authorities to ensure the compliance of events
  • Preparation of event and other reports
  • Review of Event Services Order
  • Perform any ad hoc assignment as required
 
Requirements:
 
  • Degree holder or above in business studies, hotel management, event management or related disciplines
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant managerial and project management experience, preferably in the exhibition, conference, entertainment events or hotel management field
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and nurture the team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to teamwork and interact with all level of stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, open minded, rational, good attention to details and with commitment
  • Ability to think strategically and think out-of-the-box
  • Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
