AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Lau Hak Wah as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Lau brings a wealth of experience to this high profile position at a time when Hong Kong's newest and largest exhibition and events centre is reaching new heights in attracting major local and international events to the city.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lau has demonstrated solid expertise in all areas of commercial, property and facility management, and the development and implementation of safety management systems for facilities both globally and in the region.
Welcoming the new member to the team, Mr. Nicolas Borit, Chief Executive Officer of AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited said, "HW is highly experienced in facility management and brings with him a successful track record of service partnership management. He has demonstrated major achievements in service quality and efficiency through win-win partnership approaches."
Mr. Lau has held senior positions with the Housing Department, the Civil Aviation Department, and immediately prior to this appointment, the Airport Authority Hong Kong. During his tenure at the Airport Authority Hong Kong, he supervised a series of high profile projects including the 1997 Handover programme and the 1998 World Bank Conference. Mr. Lau is also an active participant on a range of local and international committees and task forces. He is the Chairman and Founder of the Operational Safety Task Force of the Airport Council International (Pacific), and a member of the Operational Safety Sub-Committee of the Airport Council International (World).
In his new position, Mr. Lau will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of AsiaWorld-Expo and will head up all related departments including technical support, catering, security and logistics.

Prior to joining AsiaWorld-Expo, Mr. Lau was responsible for Safety and Operations at the Airport Authority Hong Kong, where he oversaw the safety and efficient operations for more than 200 business partners and close to 50,000 airport staff.
