AsiaWorld-Expo, Asia’s leading exhibition and convention venue, is pleased to announce that visitor numbers have continued to rise in recent months. This increase affirms the important role that AsiaWorld-Expo plays in bringing together both suppliers and buyers from around the world.
In April, AsiaWorld-Expo was once again the venue for the eagerly-anticipated China Sourcing Fairs. One of the most important events of the year, this series of Fairs – which addresses specific markets such as Electronics and Components, Security Products, Home Products, India Home Products, Baby and Children’s Products, Gifts and Premiums, Fashion Accessories, and Underwear and Swimwear – is a massive showcase of products and services from Mainland China and the Asia Pacific. The China Sourcing Fair: Electronics and Components alone has grown 52% since its inaugural show in 2006, and is now the fourth largest electronics fair in the world. In April 2010, the complete series of China Sourcing Fairs featured close to 6,000 exhibition booths and welcomed around 60,000 buyers from 142 countries and regions around the world.
“We are very pleased to witness the success of the China Sourcing Fairs since its relocation to Hong Kong from 2006 onwards,” said Mr. Tommy Wong, President of Global Sources Exhibitions. “It’s encouraging to see that our hard work over the years has enabled the fairs to grow from strength to strength. The line up has been expanded to include more new shows and new themes. With its excellent facilities and service, AsiaWorld-Expo provides the ideal platform for our events.”
Also in April, the fifth annual Hong Kong International Printing and Packaging Fair opened at AsiaWorld-Expo. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Limited, this internationally renowned trade fair was equally successful and attracted over 260 exhibitors from around the world including many quality local exhibitors. With an increase of more than 8% in the number of exhibitors over last year, the fair underscores Hong Kong’s importance as a global printing centre.
“We’re very pleased that the Hong Kong International Printing and Packaging Fair continues to record increases in exhibitors at AsiaWorld-Expo,” remarked Mr. Benjamin Chau, Deputy Executive Director of Hong Kong Trade Development Council. “We will also host another three annual shows at AsiaWorld-Expo in October and November. One of the highlights is the Eco Asia – International Trade Fair on Environmental Protection, which has gone from strength to strength. The event enjoyed record-breaking exhibitor and visitor numbers in its last edition, up 63% and 67% respectively, and will return with an even better edition in November.”
“All these high-profile trade events provide yet further confirmation that AsiaWorld-Expo is growing in international stature, reputation and influence,” remarked Mr. Allen Ha, Chief Executive Officer, AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited. “Our location adjacent to Hong Kong International Airport provides unrivalled accessibility to overseas exhibitors and buyers alike. Following the completion of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, AsiaWorld-Expo will be at the very hub of one of the world’s most important economic zones, which is sure to accelerate our market growth for many years to come.”
