The biggest-ever electronics trade fairs for Global Sources open today and run until 15 October 2011 at AsiaWorld-Expo. The four co-located events including the China Sourcing Fairs: Electronics & Components, Security Products, Solar & Energy Saving Products and the Korea Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components feature over 3,900 booths, a 19 percent increase from last year. All exhibitor booths have been sold out in August.
"Our focus on presenting the hottest product categories from quality-focused manufacturers continues to draw the world's top buyers to Hong Kong every October," said Tommy Wong, President, Global Sources Exhibitions. "This, in turn, is attracting more exhibitors to the shows, which have become a platform for export success in Asia's electronics industry." Tens of thousands of buyers will benefit from the specialised pavilions, including the iProducts Accessories Pavilion which is twice the size of last year with about 15% from Hong Kong exhibitors.
Building on the dynamic growth and development of the Pearl River Delta (PRD) metropolis envisioned in the “Outline of the 12th Five-Year Plan for the National Economic and Social Development of the People’s Republic of China”, the China Sourcing Fairs will enjoy a direct catchment of over 100 million people at AsiaWorld-Expo which will emerge as the world’s undisputed gateway to an economic powerhouse with its unique geographical location in the PRD.
Ms. Dawn Chan of Central Pacific International Group Ltd. (HK), a Hong Kong exhibitor at the electronics fairs, is particularly impressed with the cross-border infrastructure projects. “It’s nice to know that there will be a pioneering transportation system linking AsiaWorld-Expo and the PRD regions, and we are pleased to enjoy the unprecedented convenience offered at AsiaWorld-Expo.” Another local exhibitor, Mr. Alvin Lo of Papago (HK) Limited said, “Just in the morning of the first show day, we have already met a number of quality buyers, and they are very likely to become our new clients. The recent announcement of the China’s 12th Five-Year Plan will definitely help to generate more business opportunities.”
