Vitafoods Asia 2011 debuted in Hong Kong today at AsiaWorld-Expo. With over 125 exhibitors, Vitafoods Asia 2011 is the first event of its kind to attract a completely pan-Asian visitor audience and global exhibitor base that is wholly dedicated to the nutraceuticals, functional foods, functional drinks, dietary supplements and nutricosmetics industries.
According to the event organiser, Asia Pacific is the second biggest global market for functional foods, behind only the USA; while an increasingly ageing population combined with a growing awareness of health and wellbeing issues have contributed to a heightened interest in the benefits delivered by these products. It is expected that the market value will reach US$48 million in 2012. Vitafoods Asia serves as a platform for visitors from all over the world to get contacts with suppliers, attend seminar programmes and interact with other industry players.
