AsiaWorld-Expo – Asia’s world-class venue for exhibitions, conventions and events – has launched iSME Showcase, an interactive platform that helps Hong Kong small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) tap millions of potential buyers & visitors from international & local markets to further expand their markets. In collaboration with trade associations in Hong Kong, AsiaWorld-Expo believes that iSME Showcase can also assist SMEs to promote exceptional home-grown brands.
Mr Allen Ha, Chief Executive Officer of AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited, said at a recent ceremony to jointly launch iSME Showcase with the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association, “SMEs account for more than 90% of Hong Kong’s economic structure, which represents a significant economic pillar and bodes vast business potential.”
Mr Ha added, “In the recent years, AsiaWorld-Expo has recorded strong business performance with an average business growth increase of more than 20% over the past two years. Our increasingly diversified business and the rising number of large-scale EXPOtainment events – including international exhibitions, conventions, concerts, banquets and international examinations – held have attracted millions of local and overseas visitors to our venue. Amid this positive trend, we hope to leverage on the advantages of our international platform and huge visitor flow to launch iSME Showcase which we believe can help Hong Kong SMEs market their products and services to the world, promote these Hong Kong brands and further expand their markets and business potential.”
The all-new interactive platform will allow Hong Kong SMEs to align the promotion of their products and services with AsiaWorld-Expo’s large-scale EXPOtainment activities so that it becomes a one-stop Hong Kong SME information centre for overseas businesses and local visitors.
The Hong Kong Exporters’ Association Chairman Ivan Ting said, “We are delighted that AsiaWorld-Expo has spared no effort to support Hong Kong SMEs with the launch of iSME Showcase, providing SMEs with an excellent marketing platform. Through its numerous large-scale EXPOtainment events throughout the year and its diversified business portfolio, AsiaWorld-Expo has not only been able to draw millions of visitors, but the scale of the audience it has reached has also been extensive and diversified.”
The Hong Kong Exporters’ Association was established in 1955 to closely liaise with local and overseas trade associations to safeguard interests of Hong Kong's export trade and expand business opportunities for exporters. Its corporate members specialize in diverse areas of export and re-export trade, as well as manufacturing.
AsiaWorld-Expo is playing host to numerous large-scale EXPOtainment events this year that are expected to attract a huge number of international visitors, buyers and Hong Kong visitors. They include a series of Global Sourcing Fairs in April and October, the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair (the largest of its kind in the world), ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA and Vitafoods Asia among many others. International conferences include Asia-Pacific Association for International Education 2013 Conference and Exhibition, Airline Retail Conference, USANA Asia Pacific Convention 2013, LINC Asia-Pacific 2013 and Future Travel Experience Asia 2013 etc.
Also, AsiaWorld-Expo brought to Hong Kong the Longines Hong Kong Masters (28 February to 2 March), the only 5-star accredited equestrian competition in Asia. In addition, the venue continues to be a hot pick for experiencing K-pop culture in Hong Kong. Many popular groups from Korea including G-Dragon, among others, will give their concerts while J-rock group Glay and R&B star Misia will also perform at AsiaWorld-Expo this month. Meanwhile, the Baby & Mother Carnival on 10-12 May was also a fun-filled event for both kids and parents.
