AsiaWorld-Expo, Asia’s leading exhibition and events venue, has been named the
“Best Exhibition and Convention Centre” at the 13th CAPITAL Outstanding Enterprise Awards, organised by CAPITAL, South China Media. This is the fourth consecutive year that AsiaWorld-Expo has won this high-profile award, which is designed to recognise the contributions and efforts of Hong Kong’s top enterprises.
This important industry recognition coincides with AsiaWorld-Expo being named one of the top three
“Best Convention/Exhibition Centres” in Asia at the renowned CEI Asia Industry Awards 2013 for the second consecutive year. Organised by leading MICE publication CEI Asia magazine, this award is based on votes and feedback from professionals in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) industry.
“We deeply value the regard that CAPITAL’s readers have for AsiaWorld-Expo,” remarked Mr. Allen Ha, Chief Executive Officer of AsiaWorld-Expo Management Limited. “We are thrilled to be named the “Best Exhibition and Convention Centre” for the fourth consecutive year. This prestigious recognition is yet further proof of the reputation that AsiaWorld-Expo now enjoys among the world’s industry leaders and professionals, even though the venue is a relative newcomer, having only been in operation for seven years.”
Indeed, the venue’s status as a hub for some of the world’s top shows is evident in the line-up of events scheduled for 2013. These include a series of Global Sourcing Fairs, China New Energy Vehicle Show 2013, The HUB and also the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair. A number of additional world-class EXPOtainment events have also chosen AsiaWorld-Expo for their Hong Kong debut, including eagerly-anticipated sport extravaganzas such as the equestrian Longines Hong Kong Masters (28 February – 2 March) and the BNP Paribas Tennis Showdown – Hong Kong (4 March).
“The increasing variety and popularity of events at AsiaWorld-Expo doesn’t just benefit us as a venue, but also the whole community on Lantau Island,” continued Mr Ha. “Looking to the future, we will capitalise on the opportunities created by the Central Government’s 12th Five-Year Plan and the imminent completion of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in 2016. Together with our premier location, we are uniquely positioned to further develop our business and will bring more variety of world-class large-scale EXPOtainment events to Hong Kong.”
An award-winning leader in green business practices
In addition to its industry awards, AsiaWorld-Expo is also pleased to announce that it received two environmental awards in the first quarter of 2013. It was named “Friends of EcoPark 2012/13” in a scheme organised by EcoPark and the Environmental Protection Department. This is the first time AsiaWorld-Expo has received this award.
The venue was also awarded the “Good” Energywi$e Label at the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE). This award was given in recognition of AsiaWorld-Expo’s efforts to reduce its energy consumption in 2011/12. It is the first time the venue has received the award.
As a pioneer of green initiatives, AsiaWorld-Expo has always been committed to the highest standards of environmental care. Since the opening, the venue has adhered to strict environmental protocols regarding energy management, indoor air quality, waste management, and tree planting. In 2011, an
Ocean-Friendly Menu and
